After fulfilling the dream of motherhood, many women would like to regain the figure they had before their pregnancies. Some areas of the body affected by pregnancy and breastfeeding can be improved through different surgical procedures to treat the following:
- The flaccidity and excess skin of the abdomen.
- Weakness of the abdominal muscles.
- Changes in breast position, size, and consistency.
- Body fat deposits difficult to lose with diet and exercise.
Depending on the needs of each patient, it’s possible to do a combination of the following procedures:
Abdominoplasty or lipectomy: This consists of removing excess skin from the abdomen and reconstructing the abdominal muscles to achieve a flat and firm belly.
Mammoplasty: Depending on the changes in the breasts, volume augmentation with implants, breast lift, breast reduction, and areola and/or nipple size reduction can be performed.
Liposculpting: It consists of removing fat from different places in the body to improve the body contour. It mainly removes fat from the waist, back, around the breasts and arms.
Buttocks augmentation: The patient´s own fat may be used to improve the shape and volume of the buttocks.
A complete medical evaluation is necessary to determine that the patient is a candidate for all of these procedures at the same time.
