Tummy Tuck

This procedure is also known as abdominoplasty.

A flat belly and a tight waist are the features of a female aesthetic abdomen. However, this site of the body tends to deposit fat easily and suffers some changes after pregnancies, such as they are: loose skin and weakened muscles. These changes may not improve with diet and exercise.

The abdominoplasty or tummy tuck removes excess skin and fat, and restores weakened and separated muscles creating an abdominal profile that is flatter and firmer.

A tummy tuck requires a horizontally-oriented low enough that it is hidden under a bikini.

Tummy tuck candidates:

Women who are finished with child-bearing.
Women who are in good medical health and have an stable body weight.
Women who have loose skin after pregnancies or weight loss.
Women who have realistic expectations

No candidates for tummy tuck:

Women who have unrealistic expectations
Women who smoke and who are not able to leave smoking for 3 months (six week before surgery and six weeks after surgery). chemicals from smoking may cause healing complications.

What happens if I get pregnant after a tummy tuck?

It is almost sure that you will be able to carry your baby healthily to term.
However, it is possible to lose, partially or totally, the results of the tummy tuck. Your scar may get thick and you are more likely to get stretch marks in the abdomen.

Recovery time

It is necessary about two weeks of relative rest. This means that bed rest is not necessary, but it is recommended to stay at home and avoid strenuous activities.
Having a supportive friend or relative is needed for care at home the first week after surgery.
